WEST, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Meanwhile, a volunteer emergency medical technician who helped evacuate people before the explosion is now charged with having a destructive device.
But the US attorney's office says authorities will not speculate whether this case has any connection to the plant explosion.
Bryce Reed made an appearance in federal court this morning... but did not enter plea.
Back in April, Reed gave a eulogy for one of the volunteer firefighters killed in the blast.
Court documents show reed gathered the components for a pipe bomb. And suggest he gave the materials to a friend who got suspicious and called authorities.
