Edinburg, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — It may seem like the election cycle lately never stops, but for the people running the voting process, it's all business.
A local election usually means a smaller turnout, but it's always a big deal making sure everything runs smoothly.
"None of them are ever as easy as it sounds, it still requires quite a bit of preparation," said Yvonne Ramon, Elections Administrator for Hidalgo County. "It's kind of like your bank statement, it doesn't matter if you have $1 million or if you have $1, you still have to balance it... It still takes the same amount of preparation."
Hidalgo County is contracted out to handle three elections on Saturday. The County will run the school board races in Hidalgo and McAllen, and the city offices races in Mercedes.
