Several Brownsville high school students had a frightening ride home on Tuesday afternoon when a car collided with their bus.
It happened near the intersection of highway 58 and Price road when a car hit a school bus carrying seven Pace high school students. Both the bus and car were heading southbound when the driver of the Dodge Neon did not stop with traffic and ran into the rear of the bus.
The collisions impact caused the cars engine to catch on fire which firefighters put the flames out. The Brownsville I.S.D. sent another school bus to safely get the students home and it took police 40 minutes to clear the road. An investigation into the exact cause of this accident is now on going.
