A man is behind bars accused of committing two robberies and authorities say he didn't go down without a fight.
According to Pharr police, 25 year-old Eddie Rodriguez robbed the Aziz store on West Nolana around 10:30pm on Sunday. The clerk told officers he walked in and claimed to have a knife and demanded cash. He took off from the store with about $93 dollars, but not before the clerk could write down the license plate numbers. Less than 20 minutes later, Edinburg police answered the call of a robbery at El Tigre convenience store located on Trenton and Business 281. That call led officers to Rodriguez and they tried pulling him over, but he refused to stop leading officers on a chase from Edinburg to Pharr.
The chase came to an end when Rodriguez crashed into a concrete barrier on the Edinburg to McAllen interchange. He is in Edinburg police custody where he will soon be charged.
