BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Hundreds of die hard Houston Texans fans were at the HEB in Brownsville as Texan nose tackle Earl Mitchell and former player and Houston Texan ambassador N.D. Kalu signed autographs for the fans. It's all part of the Houston Texans Stampede Tour.
"I really respect the people of the valley, whether it’s for high school football or Houston Texan football." Said Kalu
"It’s my first time out here and just to see the crowd reaction. to see how many people came to support us its really nice." said Mitchell
The Houston Texan cheerleaders were also on hand signing autographs and taking pictures.
"Hi we are the Houston Texans Cheerleaders and we love the Rio Grande valley, go Texans." cheered the Texans Cheerleaders
It's a nice homecoming for cheerleader Amanda who is a Harlingen South high graduate.
"I am actually wrapping up my last season so it’s bittersweet, I get to finish it up where I grew up."
Houston Texan fans in the Valley say it was a great experience.
"This is now a hotbed for fans and we are glad to see them here." said one fan.
"Really excited number I’m the #1 fan in the Valley, I am really excited." said another fan.
"They were really nice wanting to hold my son and take a picture with him, it’s nice they are down here in the Valley." said an excited fan.
Many fans are optimistic the Texans will have a great year in the fall.
"Go Texans hopefully they will go to super bowl this season."said one fan.
"We are going to take it all the way, we have already been there next step championship going to the Super Bowl and bringing the trophy back to Texas."
