HIDALGO COUNTY, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The recent and pervasive drought has left Hidalgo County extremely vulnerable to the risk of fires.
The issue kept firefighters very busy this time of year... Many of those fires are in rural areas where mater isn't always accessible.
But now thanks to a new plan, the county will approve installation of filling stations in new sub-divisions. Hidalgo County chief fire Marshall Juan Martinez says both the fire departments and citizens will benefit from this new plan.
