McAllen, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has released it's 2013 Spring Allergy Capitals list identifying the 100 most challenging places to live with allergies during the spring season.
The City of McAllen was ranked 4th on the list with such pollens as Mountain Cedar, Arizona Cypress, Elm, Ash, Poplar. The ranking was based on scientific analysis of three factors, of the 100 largest metro areas, with such data as pollen scores, number of allergy medication used by patients and the number of allergy doctors per patient.
Of the top 25 cities listed, 15 to those cities are in the Southern section of the country, and reflects a continuing trend that the AAFA has seen over the years.
