Terminated Superintendent Hector Gonzales is appealing the B.I.S.D. board's decision to let him go.
An investigation led to his termination last month because it revealed problems in the school districts Special Services department. The board voted 5 to 1 to remove Gonzales from his post which paid him $225,000 dollars a year. Gonzales had until Thursday to file an appeal and that's when he filed his appeal. The school district responded on Friday saying "Mr. Gonzales has the right to appeal. Brownsville I.S.D. is confident that the decision will be upheld in appeal."
Gonzales' termination is based on 173 findings of fact and 54 conclusions of law.
