RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Custom officials say they are prepared for the busy Holy Week traffic at port of entries around the Valley.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is advising the traveling public that in spite of sequestration, CBP management has worked within its means to prepare for this busy time and the public can expect for traffic to be managed with Holy Week traffic mitigation measures that have been utilized previously.
Holy Week traffic facilitation plans have been implemented at the eight ports of entry within Laredo Field Office extending from Brownsville to Del Rio since Thursday, March 21, 2013.
CBP wants to reassure the traveling public that the agency is working to ensure that the facilitation of trade and travel is expedited as much as possible while still upholding our priority border security mission.
