HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Police arrested a female, on Wednesday, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the arm with a pair of scissors.
Police were called to a home located at 106 West Matz in reference to a stabbing incident and the suspect, Maria Luisa Saenz, 18, had fled the scene but was still in the area.
A second officer questioned the boyfriend, Mark Anthony Moreno, 18, at the home and he informed the officer that both of them had an argument and that Saenz began throwing items and eventually stabbing him in the forearm with a pair of scissors.
Saenz was interviewed and she claimed that Moreno assaulted her and she was defending herself from Moreno by stabbing him.
Based on the conflicting stories both, Saenz and Moreno, were arrested for assault and Saenz was also charged with evading arrest.
Saenz was given a bail of $27,000 and Moreno's bail was set at $6,000 dollars.
