Mission, TX (NEWS CENTER 23) — For 25 years the Boys and Girls Club in Mission has been changing the lives of boys and girls here in the valley.
On Thursday 150 local T-Mobile employees volunteered to give the club a new make over.
Regional Vice President of T-Mobile, John Freir says, "We are taking all over all employees particularly from the Mission call center and we are here to beautify this Boys and Girls Club. "
City of Mission Mayor Norberto Salinas attended the event and thanked the T-mobile huddle up nationwide outreach program for making a difference and reaching out to the center. Mayor Salinas says, "All the volunteers and the whole renovation of this building is wonderful, I really want to thank T-mobile."
It was alot of hard work for the volunteers as they headed straight to work some of the tasks included a lot painting, placing new furniture, distributing school supplies, and even creating new gardens for the club.
The club also received a new interior face lift by having new murals, which revitalized the area.
For The Boy's and Girls club this meant alot and they are grateful for all the work.
J.C. Avila of the Boys and Girls Club says, "And doing this of course for the community...and the kids of Mission again...the Boys and Girls Club along with the advisory board, we want to say thank you."
