Weslaco, TX (News Center 23) — A Weslaco ISD second grade student brought a knife to school on Monday.
School officials said he had intentions of hurting himself. It happened at Margo Elementary school on Bridge Avenue.
A security guard found the knife in the 8 year-olds backpack after another student reported it to a teacher.
The district said the school acted quickly and correctly.
The boy is now receiving help outside of school.
A note was sent home to the parents of the students in his class.
