HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — The Cyberpatriot team, from Marine Military Academy, won in its division the national competition over the weekend.
The CyberPatriot V National Championship was held on March 14 -16 in National Harbor, Maryland with 806 teams competing and 14 of those for the finals.
In the CyberPatriot club, students learn to identify and correct all types of computer security threats.
The MMA Devil Dogs beat the remaining fourteen teams to take the 2013 Commander-in-Chief’s Cup, first place in the Marine Division and the 2013 Marine Corps JROTC Service Champion plaque.
The team consisted of five cadets and each one of them received a gold medal and a $2,000 college scholarship from Northrop Grumman Corporation.
