With border violence on the rise several border leaders all part of the Southwest Border Task Force met by phone to plan and keep our borders safe.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino took part in that teleconference.
The sheriff was one of many talking about 19 border security and commerce recommendations which will be sent to Homeland Security Secretary janet Napolitano for consideration. At the end of the teleconference the Southwest Border Task Force approved all 19 recommendations.which will be sent to Homeland Security for consideration.
