BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The Brownsville Community Improvement Corpration released the independent accountant's report on the construction of the Brownsville Sports Park.
The report was done in an effort to foster accountability and transparency to the public investment of the park. A Houston firm conducted the review and analysis in the construction of the park dating back to August 2012. BCIC Chair Rose Gowen, M.D. commented on the report stating, “The purpose of this review was to gain a better understanding of why costs escalated so quicklyand more importantly what safeguards and changes need to be implemented to ensure better control of future investments and projects.”
The board plans to review and implement the recommendations from the report in the future and to view the report download the PDF file attached below.
