PHARR, TEXAS (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — The Pharr Police Department sought guidance and assistance from the Texas Historical Commission in the process to follow concerning the skeletal remains that were found on February 11, 2013 on private property under construction. On February 19, 2013 with the assistance of the Construction Company the remains were buried at the same location they were found at.
The department further reached out to The Apache of Indian Affairs Director Robert Soto who acknowledged that the burial of the remains on or near the original site was a process to follow. He advised that they would be performing a ritual at the site of the burial sometime next week. The director was placed in contact with the construction company to coordinate the visit to the site.
The Pharr Police Department will be taking no further action.
