Hidalgo County (NEWS CENTER 23) — Two customers are filing a lawsuit against a valley-based restaurant, after they say they accumulated nearly $20,000 dollars in medical bills because there was insects in their food.
The customers claim they went to eat at Delia's Tamales in Pharr back in July. and later felt ill and believe their food contained insect residue and at least a whole cockroach.
However, Delia's attorney says the restaurant conducted their own investigation into the food matter but found no evidence linking the insect to the restaurant.
Delias attorney requested proof of the medical bills, but none was received.
The lawsuit for $40,000 was filed last week in Hidalgo County Ciyrt-at-Law 6 in Edinburg.
