Horacio Zamora was officially sworn in as the new Cameron County Precinct 1 Constable.
Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos inducted Zamora on Monday afternoon and a color guard was on hand for the special ceremony. Zamora brings with him many years of experience with working for the Port Isabel Police Department and most recently for the Cameron County District Attorneys Office. He says he's looking forward to serving the people. Former constable, Jose Maldonado allowed a friend to fire his county issued gun costing him his position and allowing County Commissioners to elect Zamora as the new constable for the precinct.
