Donna, TX (NEWS CENTER 23) — A newspaper vendor is dead after a car struck him in Donna on Sunday morning.
Police say the man killed was an independent contractor who sold The Monitor. The accident happened off of FM 493 and Expressway 83 in Donna.
Police say Jesus Molina was crossing the street, but it was so dark and the driver couldn't see him.
The driver stopped and called 911 after he hit the man, but the the man didn't make it.
Police are still deciding whether to press charges, but they believe it was an accident and that the driver did nothing wrong.
