The Cameron County Sheriff Department seizes close to a half ton of marijuana, found near the Harlingen area.
The Cameron County Sheriff's Special Investigation Unit found around 11-hundred pounds of marijuana in an abandoned home, valued as high as $800,000.
In total 1,096 pounds was found by the Investigation Unit.
The marijuana was marked by the Unit with markers telling the poundage of each bundle.
The Sheriff Department is still not disclosing where the drugs were found because the investigation continues.
However, they do say it was between Harlingen and La Feria.
Investigators believe the drugs were heading to the northern part of the state to a big city like Dallas.
The Sheriff Department says they received word about the drugs from a tipster.
No arrests have been made yet on the marijuana.
