MISSION, TX (NEWS CENTER 23) — The family of Aaron Juan Garcia is finally speaking out after police discovered his body in a canal earlier this week.
The family said they're in shock and trying to set up the funeral arrangements.
After more than a month of waiting, family members said they wish they had acted sooner.
Stephanie Garza said even since the news of his discovery, she has not found any closure.
"Personally not really. Until I actually see it for myself that it is him, which according to them, we are not going to get to see if it is him, that they would rather that we don't see him. I'm never going to get closure, I am never going to be at peace with it," said Stephanie Garza, Sister.
The family is struggling with funeral expenses, but an account has been set up with Lone Star National Bank. The account is called the "Aaron Juan Garcia Funeral Expenses." The account number is 40534359.
The viewing will take place tomorrow at the Rivera Funeral Home in Mission from 1:00 p.m.. to 9:00 p.m..
The funeral will be at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission on Friday.
