13-year-old doesn't let broken leg stop him from saving drowning friend.
Two Florida teens jumped into a Marco Island lake to try and save a drowning man.
It was a frightening scene with two people calling desperately for help while drowning in a lake.
With dozens of people around and no one else jumping in, 13-year-old Logan Gross took matters into his own hands - even with a broken leg.
"Everyone was just sitting there doing nothing," Gross said. "I jumped in and swam and just started swimming as fast as I could."
Gross was able to grab his friend, Tyler Melton, wrapping his arms around him and swimming him back to land.
"I was holding him like this on his chest. I just started kicking as fast as I could," the 13-year-old said.
Afterward, Gross jumped back in the lake to save the 61-year old from Connecticut, but rescuers ordered him out of the water.
"I could've saved his life," Gross said. "I was not scared at all."
