McAllen, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — While students at the McAllen I.S.D. enjoyed the day off for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, teachers were still on the clock and spending the day learning more about the iPad they use in the classroom. It was just one of several training sessions scheduled to take place throughout the year and they are encouraged by the school district to use the iPad in their daily lessons. Many students are using the iPad in the classroom and McHi Principal, Albert Canales, stated about the training, "I think it is just our job to get them better trained and that way they can see the power of what the iPad can actually do. So that is our goal today, to show them the different apps that are out there, the ease and the use of the iPad and the apps."
