NATIONAL (NEWS CENTER 23) — The number of children diagnosed with ADHD has increased significantly over the past 10 years and a new study looked at the medical records of more than 800,000 ethnically diverse children living in Southern California. Researchers found a 25% increase in ADHD cases from 2001 to 2010 and the biggest increase came in for African American children of 70%. Doctors say a heightened awareness of ADHD may lave led to more screenings and more children being treated.
