The city of Brownsville's Community Development Block Grant program will be holding a homeless census in hopes of getting much needed funding.
The CDBG will conduct the census January 24th.
They'll go to homeless shelters and areas in Brownsville in an effort to get an accurate count of the homeless people in the city.
These numbers will be to given to the federal government.
The city hopes to get federal funding to help homeless shelters and help the homeless people of Brownsville.
