BROWNSVILLE — At the Cameron County Courthouse, four Brownsville Independent School District (bisd) high schools competed at the mock trial, Hanna, Veterens, Rivera, and Brownsville Early college High schools. Teachers, students, and volunteers gathered for the event and have been preparing for several months. Teachers say this is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore the judicial system as a career path. Junior, Michelle Perez, says it will help her future career path.
“I would like to become an attorney…well mock trial helps with a lot of opportunities towards seeing what the real world is like with the whole courtroom setting, and what it would be like in the future if I am an attorney.”
After the mock trial students will prepare for January 26th which is for Regionals at Hidalgo County Courthouse reporting from Brownsville Abigail Camilo, KVEO Newscenter 23.”
