Scary moments in the Southmost area on Taxco Drive over the weekend as police say Friday night a 12 year old boy was shot in the face and body with a BB gun.
Police have arrested 3 juveniles they say were responsible.
Rene Cortez who has a 14,12, and 5 year old lives right across the street from where the 12 year old was shot.
"Adult supervision period, because they are not toys period, if it can hurt someone it's a weapon no matter what."
Police say the 4 had been playing earlier that night. The 12 year decided to go in for the night, the other 3 wanted him to continuing playing he said no, so they decided to shoot at the 12 year old with a BB gun similar this one.
The 12 year old suffered minor injures.
This incident comes just a week after the sheriff says a Rio Hondo teen was accidently shot and killed by a 13 year old with a rifle.
Brownsville police officer Jose Trevino cannot stress enough the importance of adult supervision and gun safety, even it's a BB gun which can also be deadly.
"A few years back we had a incident where a lady was killed with a BB, the BB hit her in the eyes which hit her brain and caused her death."
The three juveniles in Friday's bb incident have been charged with a injury to a child.
