HIDALGO COUNTY - Three men face the judge in Hidalgo County today.
"Juan Carlos Morin, you are charged with murder," said JP Homer Jasso.
The three men, Vicente Fabian, Juan Carlos Morin, and Victor Cruz were all arrested after Marco Antonio Reyes, 22, was found shot to death.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said all evidence points in one direction.
"From testimony, from the participants, you can't help but to admit, this is definitely spill over crime," said Sheriff Lupe Trevino, Hidalgo County.
Fabian and Morin are suspected to have shot and killed Reyes Friday night near Mission.
Reyes is believed to be a drug broker for a Mexican drug trafficking organization.
Fabian and Morin admitted to being hired by Reyes to transport two kilos of meth, but instead the pair decided to steal the drugs.
Sheriff Lupe Trevino said when the drug trafficking organization found out, they gave the men three options.
"If they fail to produce the drugs, the money, or any sort of police documentation to prove that any police agency actually seized the drugs that all of them, to include their families would be executed," said Trevino.
After this, Fabian confessed to deputies that Morin allegedly shot Reyes with a handgun.
Sheriff Trevino isn't releasing the name of the suspected drug organization involved but said they are known to operate in Reynosa, Mexico.
Mexican national Victor Cruz was also charged with tampering with evidence after the investigation led deputies to search his home.
"That indicate that the murder weapon was melted down there, also we have discovered evidence that the get-away vehicle was partially disassembled and modified there so it would not be recognized," said Trevino.
The two kilos of meth was also located at Cruz's home.
