Driver of trailer with marijuana faces judge.

A man is behind bars accused of carrying a ton of marijuana inside a trailer.

49 year-old Elizeo Enriquez appeared before Justice of the Peace Rosa Treviño after being busted with 2,300 pounds of marijuana inside a produce trailer. Investigators found the marijuana inside the trailer that was also carrying peppers and limes. Enriquez told the judge his commercial drivers license is expired and that he had no idea he had the marijuana in his load of produce.

He is charged with possession of marijuana and remains at the Hidalgo county jail under a $500,000 dollar bond.
