Brownsville May Have City Owned Gas Utility System

BROWNSVILLE — The City of Brownsville may soon have a city owned gas utility system by PUB if a city ordinance is approved and PUB  will operate the system. Alicia Warner, BPUB Comm. Manager stated, "Gas Utility System will add reliability to city services, for instance, electrical generations units run on gas power, some of them use gas to generate what people use in their homes and it's a great investment for the City of Brownsville and Brownsville Public Utilities Board, in terms of bringing in our own gas generation."
