San Juan - With much prayer, singing, and devotion, thousands of Rio Grande Valley residents are preparing for the Virgin of Guadalupe Day.
Here in the Rio Grande Valley midnight masses will take place at many Catholic churches throughout the RGV.
For many December 12th (The Virgin of Guadalupe day), has a large significance and is a day when they pay respect to a patron they believe has answered their prayers.
The Virgin of Guadalupe apparitions date back to December 1531 in the country of Mexico and presently many devote Catholics continue to remember the special date by attending mass.
Many of the special masses will have a mariachi band and as expected will have a large turnout of people.
