The price of milk is about $3.50 gallon in many places right now. But some experts say it could be more than double within a year.
With sky-high feed prices for cows-- thanks to a record drought and with no farm bill in place the price of milk could vary over the next six months. The government sets a minimum price for milk prices so Dairy Farmers can stay in business. But with no farm bill they could get hit by huge fluctuations in prices. Expers say with all the focus on that fiscal cliff a new farm bill has seemingly slipped through the cracks. So the prices of milk could dip causing farmers to sell.
