EDINBURG - Several Department Representing the University of Texas Pan American along with volunteers from the Hidalgo County Bar association and other organizations turned out in force at the legacy events center in Edinburg recently to provide free legal services ad important information to Valley Veterans who for years put their lives on hold to serve our country and protect our many freedoms. The event, called "wills for heroes" brought in attorney's, notaries and witnesses to help military men and women and their spouses draft wills and estate planning documents.
About 50 World War II, Korean and Vietnam War Veterans sought help at the wills for heroes clinic. Attorney Joby Mills especially enjoyed working with the Vietnam Vets. He says they have a special place in his heart. The "wills for heroes" clinic is one of many important community outreach programs UTPA is proud to be part of. Representatives from University foundation, Veterans services center, Alumni office and Library were on hand to provide information and support.
