MCALLEN - Like clothing styles, hairstyles, and music, funeral and cemetery preferences change and evolve to reflect the generation they represent.
The Cremation Association of North America says atleast 46% of Americans will chose cremation as an option by 2015. That is nearly half the population, but for some they believe it is nothing new.
Joe Zamora of Weslaco says, "it's something we have done since the beginning of times, however, cremation is definitely more cost effective."
Funeral Director John Kreidler explains that despite the decision a person makes, he believes they should think it out well and make a plan, that way they have peace of mind.
The choice of cremation isn't the only rising statistic. Baby boomers, approximately 78.2 million people born between 1946 and 1964, are aging and in present day they are choosing different alternatives besides burials.
