A Brownsville commissioners meeting was held at City Hall on Tuesday night to discuss a handful of items including the Weir dam project that's been delayed due to issues concerning the different parties involved.
The more than $18 million dollars given to the city by the federal government to be used to help this project come to life, but issues by Mexican officials concerning infrastructure problems have delayed the required permits to make the Weir project a reality.
City officials have already contacted the federal government so if the funds are not used for the Weir dam project they will stay in Brownsville to fund other water projects. Commissioners are set to meet one last time to make a final decision.
