Suspect Uses Beer Package as Weapon

SAN BENITO — Police have arrested 20 year-old Alberto Vargas who is accused of stealing and using a 18 pack of beer as a weapon. Vargas used the 18 count package on a customer at a Stripes convenience store who apparently got in his way as he fled the store. Witnesses gave police a good description of the gateway vehicle that Vargas was driving and the very next day police spotted the vehicle in the area and arrested Vargas.
