MCALLEN - For many Thanksgiving holiday is a time to hit the road or take to the sky. In the United States more than 43-million are expected to travel this Turkey Day according to AAA.
AAA forecasts that nearly 3.3 million Texans will leave home to celebrate Thanksgiving. The number of car drivers in the state traveling for this holiday is up 1.6% and air travel is down only 0.7%, other travel such as; trains, buses, and cruise ships is up 11%.
If traveling by air TSA reminds everyone packing all the holiday goodies, like jams and preserves that those items can go through your check luggage, but they can't go through the checkpoint in your carry on luggage.
Meanwhile, for those traveling to Mexico, remember to give yourself plenty of time for long checkpoints.
