Parkinson's disease affects many people in the Valley and on Wednesday Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville is holding a question and answer event to talk about the disease. Dr. Alejandro Betancourt will be the speaker at the event and he will talk about the disease. Parkinson's affects the central nervous system and Dr. Betancourt will talk about procedures that are used to help treat the disease, "To alleviate the symptoms of a patient is a combination of medication with surgery. Medication sometimes by itself then medication with surgery, with therapy and continuous follow up." The event will be at Valley Baptist Medical Center beginning at 6:30 PM in the Tower Conference room.
