BROWNSVILLE - Under Brownsville's current city ordinance smoking is allowed in bars but city commissioners are considering a prohibition.
Lynda Camacho is the bar manager at Southwinds lounge she has been working there for 15 years she strongly opposes the proposed ordinance she says more than half of her customers smoke.
"i am working here supporting my family, and it's going to affect me because we are not foinf to have many people."
Southwindslounge was one of several bars at a public forum last night hosted by the city. The forum gave people the chance to voice their ordinance Brownsvillehealth director Art Rodriguez says well some people oppose the ordinance many are in favor of it and he saus that it should be passed.
rodriguez says all the information from last nights forum will be summarized and presented to the city commissioners as they continue to consider the change in ordinance.
