The Texas Unemployment Rate Falls To 6.8 Percent In September; State Added 21,000 Jobs

Good news for the State of Texas the unemployment rate fell to 6 point 8 percent in August and down more than one whole percentage point from September last year. In the RGV the most recent figures are still pretty high.

In Brownsville the rate is 11 percent.

Harlingen is at 9.4%

And McAllen has the lowest unemployment rate at 7.8% still significantly higher than the rest of the state.
