EDINBURG, TEXAS - The University of Texas Pan American takes great pride in local businesses that are hiring UTPA Alumni and current students, so much so, that the University has started a program to recognize these companies and their bronc employees.
It's customer service motto is "We do more", But the IBC is doing much more to improve the quality of life in the South Texas region. It recruits and hires from the Rio Grande Valley's hometown higher learning institution, the university of Texas pan American, to date as many as 80 former and current UTPA students work in different capacities including managerial positions at IBC branches across Hidalgo County which according to president and chief executive officer David Guerra is a testament of the quality of education being offered at UT Pan Am.
To celebrate their successes with IBC, The university's Alumni relations office recently partnered with IBC to host a breakfast reception at the Bank's main facility in McAllen. This community outreach effort is called "Broncs at Work", A program started by UT Pan Am last year to recognize the accomplishments of UTPA graduates and students in the workforce and the businesses that hire them.
Sonia Casas is a proud UTPA Graduate and life time member of the Alumni association. With a degree in business administration, casas works in management at IBC. She credits much of her success to the education she received at UT Pan Am.
