Police are searching for the driver of a late model car. They say the person driving that car killed a woman and a 9-year-old girl when the car caused their SUV to roll over on Highway 281 in Pharr Monday Night.
Two people are dead and two recovering from injuries. Pharr police say the accident happened at the off ramp for the Nolana Loop exit just before seven Monday night. A 2002 Ford Explorer was driven by 20-year-old by Maria Guadalupe Hernandez of Katy, Texas when her SUV overturned. 9-year-old April Garcia and two other passengers were in the overturned SUV. Hernandez died at the scene. Emergency crews rushed the little girl to Mcallen Medical Center but she died there. The other two passengers in the Explorer are from Pharr. Doctors treated and released them. Police are looking for a Red Chevrolet Corsica. The Pharr police is asking anyone with information is urged to call Pharr crime stoppers at 787-TIPS.
