BROWNSVILLE - The mayor along with members of the Brownsville economic development council just returned from a trip in Columbia. In five days they visited four cities.
Teh BEDC met with about 200 businesses telling why they should invest in Brownsville. They met with businesses dealing with textiles and the food industry.
"the purpose it to have the economy grow and the only way it's if go out there and show ourselves and let the public know hey there is another place to do business not just Florida or California for example."
The BEDC says they'll work with the people in Columbia in hopes of bringing business here to Brownsville.
