The Brownsville Independent School District approved legal representation that will investigate Superintendent Hector Gonzales and the Special Services Department.
The school board suspended Gonzales and authorized the investigation at a special meeting, two weeks ago. On Tuesday night they approved retaining a Brownsville law firm, Willette and Guerra, negotiated by interim superintendent, Brett Springston.
The board approved the Harlingen law firm of Denton, Navarro, Rocho, and Bernal. The chosen law firms will investigate Gonzales and the Special Services Department.
