Just a couple weeks ago the beach was packed with people for Labor Day.
Since then things have slowed down on the Island as we are moving into Fall.
Alethea Cruz is the manager of Isla. Isla sells clothing, footwear, and jewelry.
She says June, July, and August sales were very strong.
"Summer was busy, one of the busiest summers in a few years."
Since then have seen a change in sales.
"Defiantly slowed down a ton."
Cruz says this is their off season as the kids are back in school and fewer visitors are coming to the Island.
During this time of the year stores offer big sales and hotels lower that rates hoping to draw people to the Island.
"Defiantly have a lot of sales, our locals know about this we do a lot of different things we bring in merchandise that we know will transition we will have shirts 2 for 1 and well mark things down 50 percent off 20 percent off certain things."
Many of the businesses say they looking forward to the Winter Texans to come down the Island in the next few months to help the Island economy.
