LA JOYA - Technology isn't just for in the classroom, it's now also being used in the gym. In class students are working up a sweat to video aerobics.
"We just exercised with the stepper, phew," said Brian Galvan, Irene Garcia Middle School Sixth Grader.
With soaring temperatures outside, coaches chose to keep the kids in doors for their daily workout.
"We just, for the most part we are exercising out legs," said Galvan.
Line by line, students move to the voice of exercise video as coaches encourage on the sideline. The videos really help motivate the more visual learners.
"They show the video so we can follow the steps. Like we could follow the steps, like to learn how to do them," said Jania Cardenas, Irene Garcia Middle School Sixth Grader.
Through a physical education grant, Irene Garcia Middle School purchased $6,000 worth of technology to assist with gym class.
