In Cameron County a Sheriff's Deputy opens fires on a car critically injuring the man behind the wheel after authorities say he was threatened
In the Southmost area it was quite the scene Monday around 11:45 as several shots were fired at this red Camaro. A Cameron County deputy responded to several calls of a man driving recklessly on Sioux falls. When the deputy arrived he tried talking with Mioses Patlan who driving the Camaro. At the time the deputy says the man threatened him. The sheriff department department says he even rammed the patrol car. after several times of being threatened the deputy then fired shots at Patlan.
Patlan was arrested and taken to the hospital. Patlan is currently in critical conditional at a hospital in Harlingen. When he gets out he will be charged with aggravated assault on a public servant. If found guilty he could face 5-99 years in prison and up to a $10,000 dollar fine.
