MCALLEN - The city has decided to continue helping an Upper valley family as they search for the body of their son South of McAllen.
After eight days of waiting, the city asked family members of Andres Frias to vacate the area around the canal.
Just three days ago the city has decided to stop their efforts, but after continual pleas from the family they've changed their mind.
They brought in heavy machinery to slow the water flow.
Sunday morning they'll completely shut down the canal, giving them a twenty four hour window to locate the body.
