LA JOYA — Every year school officers must adjust to the new trends and fads; especially the new trends with drugs. That's why La Joya ISD officers are relying on the help of man's best friend.
"Oh it's a good boy! Oh it's a good boy," a few encouraging words to Lobo. He's a German Shepard that loves doing his job. He's a K9 officer for La Joya ISD.
"One of the things that kids have told us that we have a problem with is drugs and that is why we keep working with these K9," said Chief Raul Gonzalez, La Joya ISD.
Today Lobo and 8 year old Ryan, a Labrador, are taking turns training.
It's the on going game of hide and seek. Officers hid the drugs and the dogs sniff it out.
