The IRS is reminding tax prepares to take a required competency test.
The 120 question competency test must be taken by December of 2013 in order continuing preparing taxes.
Around 28,000 preparers in Texas still need to take the test.
CPA's, enrolled agents, and attorney's are exempt from the test because they already have other testing requirements as part of their credentials.
